Immunisation

Immunisation is a quick, safe, and effective way to keep you and your family protected from disease.
The risks involved with contracting one of these diseases is far greater than the very small risk of immunisation against disease.

Immunisation clinics

  • No appointments are required; you may attend any session at any venue.
  • Last client will be accepted 15 minutes before closing.

Our clinics provide the following free immunisation for

Medicare card holders

  • Childhood Scheduled immunisations (National Immunisation Program)
  • High School immunisations (including those without Medicare cards currently enrolled with a high school)
  • Childhood schedule catch-up Immunisations
  • HPV catch up for under 26 years.
  • RSV and Whooping cough for pregnant women
  • Shingles vaccine 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI), 65 years and over for non- ATSI
  • Pneumococcal 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI), 70 years and over for non- ATSI
  • Influenza immunisations for the following:
  • children from 6 months to less than 5 years of age
  • 65 years and older
  • pregnant women
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
  • those with chronic medical conditions (the registered nurse will assess on the day).

Please remember to bring your Medicare card, your child’s Health and Development Book (Blue Book) and any other relevant immunisation records.

If a child attending Council’s clinic is under the age of 16, their parent/legal guardian must consent to the administration of the vaccine(s). If you intend having your child vaccinated and are unable to attend with your child, you need to be contactable by phone as the Registered Nurse will need to obtain a verbal consent.

If your child has received immunisations overseas you will be required to provide a copy of the vaccination records.

To improve the service the records will need to be reviewed offsite before immunisation can occur.

Immunisation services are administered by Health & Immunisation Management Services.

They can be contacted Monday-Friday 9am-5pm on 8152 0363 or email admin@haims.com.au
